Consul General of Norway in school - 29th October, 2001

We never had a Consul General at our morning assembly
before. Mr Kanavin, Consul General of Norway, was our first.
He was met at our carpark by two members
of the Head Girl Core Group and he
joined us at prayer time at 8:00 a.m.

"It is not easy to give a talk in ten minutes,"
he said. "It is much easier to give one in thirty minutes."

Yet his ten minute talk on the five basic human rights was very clear, succinct and inspiring. We in Sacred Heart are blessed with those rights, but we need someone to spell them out before we realise how fortunate we are! How important it is for us to open our eyes and ears to learn beyond our classroom!
